a little bit about this aspiring author's journey

I’m a writer obsessed with dystopians and speculative fiction. I love a good romance. Paranormal beings or abilities get my heart racing and magic sets my soul ablaze. Futuristic technology spins my mental cogs to whirring. I can’t get enough of fairy tale retellings.

I blog about what I’m reading, life in general, my writing journey, and whatever else takes my fancy. My extremely amateur attempts at poetry from NaPoWriMo 2016 can be found here too. I read mostly romance, fantasy and sci fi, and plenty of YA. Check out my Goodreads profile to follow my reading exploits.

When I’m not working, writing or sleeping, I love seeing films and stage plays; singing classical music or hitting up a musical, concert or opera; stretching out some yoga asanas; losing myself in manga; running around in circles; and spending time with my handsome hubby who I met on stage as Mr Darcy.

I squeeze my writing in all the gaps in life, generally on my commute to an office job sat behind a desk staring at spreadsheets and code. I’m a big supporter of women in STEM.

Please leave a comment so I can ‘meet’ and get to know you 🙂

What a coincidence I am drinking a cup of tea! Writing is not impossible, you are doing it now! And from what I’ve read it is certainly not inadequate! I’m off to have more of a read.

Jessica Hamby

Thanks for visiting! Haha tea is the perfect accompaniment to reading. I’ll have a longer look over your blog during the week 🙂 loving what I’ve seen so far X

Thank you. Take your time. I’m not going anywhere!

Hi Catherine. I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award. Come over and check it out. It is totally your choice to accept or not. https://lisalancaster.wordpress.com/2016/05/13/the-liebster-award-2/

Thanks Lisa! Xx

Thanks for following my blog!

Just write what you feel and to hell with everyone. As long as you are true to yourself and give it your best shot nothing is impossible.

Thanks for the laugh, Opher. I like your style.

Keep going-don’t give up! Whether it’s blogging or novel writing or poetry. I don’t set myself any targets, (I’m definitely not big on discipline!), it just write when I feel in the mood for it. Otherwise it becomes a chore. I’m not big on chores either-ask the wife! 🙂

^^ although I should do more proofreading!
